Patrick joined Sydney FC for the start of the 2007-08 A-League season, where he played alongside fellow Brazilian Juninho Paulista. He had previously played for Esporte Clube Vitória (Brazil), Grêmio Barueri (Brazil) and Nacional Atlético Clube (Brazil). Patrick's youth club was São Paulo Futebol Clube (Brazil).
It is believed that after Sydney FC signed Juninho Paulista, the club was inundated with player DVDs from Brazil, all looking to sign contracts with the A-League team. Amongst the DVDs was that of Patrick da Silva's. Patrick caught the attention of Sydney FC, prompting further inquiries from both Juninho Paulista and Sydney FC scouts.[1][2][3]
Patrick started his Sydney FC career with a substitute appearance against Adelaide United in Round 2 of the A-League. It has been reported that, after the following match against Perth Glory, Patrick was struggling to adjust to the pace of the league.[4]
He scored his first goal in Round 5 against Queensland Roar with his first touch of the ball.,[5] while he scored his second goal against Perth Glory in Round 8.[6]
Patrick wore the number 12 shirt while at Sydney FC.
He was released from his 1 year contract at the end of March 2008 and returned to Brazil in hopes of signing on with a new club. Just before the start of the 2008/2009 season, Patrick signed for America de Natal, alongside former Queensland Roar player Márcio Luiz Adurens. He'll wear the number 9 shirt.
In 2010 Patrick Da Silva has signed a short contract with Clube Recreativo e Atlético Catalano - CRAC to play the Goias State League till May 2010. http://www.cracnet.com.br/index.php
